Eligible customers can select and activate a perk in-app prior to making purchases with the Empower debit card in order to get cashback. Please note that only one perk can be activated at a time, but this can be swapped for another perk at any time.
To choose your perk:
- On your Accounts tab, tap on the "Add" button in the "Choose Your Perk" bubble under your Empower Card balance
- Select the perk of your choice
- Tap "Add Perk" to activate it
- Make your purchase with your Empower debit card and earn your cashback!
To change your perk:
- Tap on "Change" in the bubble below your Empower Card balance
- Select the perk you want to choose
- Tap "Add Perk"

Q: When do I get my cashback?
A: You'll receive your cashback once your transaction posts to your account. This can sometimes take up to 3 business days.
Q: How can I tell how many days are left on my perk?
A: You can see this in the bubble below your Empower Card balance.
Q: How do I review the details of my perk?
A: You can tap on the bubble for your perk under your Empower Card balance in the app. You'll be able to review the details of the perk.
Q: Can I activate multiple perks at a time?
A: Not at this time. Currently, only one perk can be active at a time. As such, please make sure your perk is activated at the time of your qualifying transaction.
Q: What if I forgot to activate my perk prior to my purchase?
A: If you forgot to activate your perk, we won't be able to provide cashback for that purchase.
Q: Is there a maximum cashback amount I can receive on my perk?
A: Yes, there is a maximum cashback amount for each perk. You can review the maximum cashback amount for your perk when you tap on your perk.
Q: Does changing my category affect my perks payout?
A: No, it does not. We'll use the transaction information to determine if the transaction is eligible to receive perks.
