What is a 1099-INT?
1099-INTs are issued to any customer who is paid more than $10 in interest from the same bank during the calendar year of 2020.
If you have earned more than $10 of interest from your accounts with nbkc Bank or Evolve Bank and Trust in the prior tax year, you should expect to receive a 1099-INT form to file your taxes.
How will I receive my 1099-INT?
For accounts with nbkc Bank:
Our banking partner nbkc sent your 1099-INT form in the mail. It should arrive by 2/5/2021.
For accounts with Evolve Bank and Trust:
You will receive an email from Empower with the form.
Why didn’t I receive a 1099-INT?
There are two possible reasons:
- You were not paid more than $10 in interest from nbkc Bank or Evolve Bank and Trust during the calendar year of 2020.
- Your mailing address on file is incorrect. If this is the case, please email our team at help@empower.me so we can help update your address.
Can I obtain an electronic copy of my 1099-INT?
We do not provide electronic copies of your 1099-INT. They can only be sent to the address on file at this time.
Why did I get 2 1099-INT forms?
Due to our migration from partnering with Evolve Bank and Trust to nbkc Bank, if you've accrued over $10 in interest from both banks in 2020, you may receive 2 1099-INT forms.
What do I do if I have a question about my 1099?
Please email us at help@empower.me and we will look into this for you.
